About this Activity

In 2024, Thomas Messi, a member of MLNS2, was appointed as the director of the Computer Science Department at ESTLC (Ecole Supérieure de Transport, Logistique et de Commerce) at the University of Ebolowa. This is a newly established school initiated by the President of Cameroon in the South Cameroon region. David Bromberg and Alain Tchana were approached to assist in structuring the academic programs and research activities of this new institution.
Two key actions were undertaken on-site: visiting the school and holding discussions with its staff, and organizing a hackathon in December 2024. We collaborated with the school’s leadership to establish its administrative and academic services. Alain Tchana introduced this institution to Grenoble INP, with the aim of signing a framework agreement for collaboration. A meeting between the leadership of ESTLC and Grenoble INP is scheduled for February 2025.
We also continued our outreach efforts with the University of Douala. This collaboration was exemplified by hosting several students from this university. Additionally, we responded to the Bantou project call from Campus France, and we are currently awaiting the results.
